The photo archive is one of the museum’s most valuable parts. It holds hundreds of photographs lent by local families for scanning; the images are unified to A4 format and the collection keeps growing.

There are family portraits, work in the fields, festivities, village clubs and old views of cottages and places that have changed beyond recognition in a century. Without this effort, most of these pictures would have stayed in drawers — or disappeared altogether.

The archive also holds documents: identity papers, a 1957 leaflet urging local farmers into the collective farm, and a field postcard sent home from Tyrol in 1915. Together with the photographs, they make the 20th century in this village unusually well documented for its size.
