Rašov has had a school since 1797; the present building opposite the church dates from 1893 — and the museum is housed inside it. We tell the story of the school from within the school.

The exhibition shows old textbooks, exercise books, blackboards, writing tools and photographs of classes and teachers. It is a return to the time when children wrote with dip pens and practised penmanship, and the school building was the liveliest place in the village.

The school is also tied to the village chronicle: teacher Karel Mazáč founded it in 1924 and recorded, among other things, every teacher who taught here — and a house-by-house list of all the village’s inhabitants. That list is where the museum finds the stories behind its objects today.
